Pantech & Curitel PT-K1700 – only 4 megapixels?

Pantech & Curitel have announced their latest new Korean phone, the Pantech & Curitel PT-K1700. Not quite as transformative as their previous release (the Pantech & Curitel PT-S170), the PT-K1700 features a sliding form factor, Bluetooth, 3D sound, and a 4 megapixel camera. Compare this with Nokia’s announcement of the new Nokia 6282, destined for the Americas, which features only a 1 megapixel camera, and it really does seem that cultural differences are playing a big part in the design and features of new phones. Americans want cheap phones, and don’t care too much about style; Asians want all the features they can get their hands on, and again don’t care too much about style; and the Europeans, of course, want all the features and style :)
Hmmmm, is that most of the whole world I just offended?!
