Pictures of Japanese phone with Moog-like interface

Mobile phones seem to be going all retro. The other day we posted Alcatel’s new OT-C850, which bore more than a passing resemblance to an early-80s handheld games machine. Now we have news of Mitsubishi’s new Music Porter X, which seems like it wants to be a MiniMoog when it grows up!

Mitsubishi Music Porter X ‘Moog phone’

The Mitsubishi Music Porter X is a mobile music phone with 1GB of memory. And, er, that’s about it feature-wise, which is somewhat unusual for a Japanese phone. But never mind the features, check out the interface! Straight from the world of analogue synths, this mobile phone has clearly been designed with music as its sole focus. Now if only it played like a Moog, too!
Oh, and for those of you still unsure what a Moog is…shame on you! Here’s a pic:
