Nokia Flickr-phones provide one-click upload to Flickr
Nokia's latest N-series Multimedia Computers mobile phones come with the ability to upload your images directly to Flickr with just one click. No need to download any software; simply select your image, and click 'Upload to Flickr' and you're done. All of Nokia's N-Series phones from now on will come with Flickr integration, starting with Nokia's latest crop of smartphones, the Nokia N72, N73 and N93.
It's already possible to upload easily to Flickr on most mobile phones, particularly those with email support. But it does require some configuring, and it isn't obvious how to do it for the less tech-savvy users. Nokia's tight integration of Flickr not only makes it simple, it also introduces Flickr to a range of new users who might not have been aware of the photo sharing service, or at least not found any use for it.
Tighter integration with mobile phones and web services such as Flickr is inevitable, as the web services enable users to get more out of the content they produce with their mobile phones. Once the handset manufacturers have worked out how to make user input and display output more effective, then we really will start to use them as multimedia computers.
