Motorola Patents the Elderly
Motorola have secured a patent for a mobile phone for the elderly. The patent describes a phone with bigger font size, simplified menu structure, etc., and presumably fewer features.
All very commendable, but this might just be Motorola's new marketing strategy: rather than compete in the technological arms race, they've simply given up, and will sell RAZRs to seniors who don't want all the latest gizmos that Samsung and co throw onto their handsets. Together with painting their phones different colours, this means Motorola can extend the life of their product range by at least another ten years without adding a single new feature! Or am I just being cynical?!
