Sony Ericsson have also announced the Sony Ericsson Z710i today. The Z710i clearly means business - largely because it's a business phone, and so comes with PC synchronisation tools, calendar and full equipped HTML browser with RSS support.
Unusually for a business phone, though, the Sony Ericsson Z710i also comes with a range of multimedia features, including 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth streaming (A2DP), MP3 player and FM radio.

Sony Ericsson have announced the new Sony Ericsson Z550i, a mid-range mobile phone with a fair feature set. The Z550i is a tri-band GPRS clamshell phone with 1.3 megapixel camera, 20MB of storage (upgradeable to 1GB), MP3 player, and, er, that's it! Sony Ericsson see the new Z550i as taking over from the "iconic" T610.
Not sure who gave Sony Ericsson a poke, but they've obviously been busy lately!

Sony Ericsson have also announced the new Sony Ericsson W850i Walkman phone. The W850i is a high-end Walkman phone featuring 3G, 2 megapixel camera, Gracenote music identifying software, improved user interface, and up to 4GB of storage.

Sony Ericsson have just announced the new Sony Ercisson W710 Walkman phone. Designed for an "active, sporty lifestyle", the W710 is clearly being positioned by Sony Ericsson as a competitor to Nokia's 5500, which was announced last week. The W710 may just have the edge in terms of sporty features, however, as it can measure your running speed, distance and time, or simply count your steps when walking.
Throw in the 2 megapixel camera, first rate MP3 player with Sony Walkman quality, and software that identifies any tune that it hears, and you've got a good looking feature-rich mobile phone that should certainly give the Nokia 5500 a run for its money.
What is it about May that suddenly brings out the sports phones though?!

NEC have released the NEC 902iS, a new mobile phone that offers a nifty image search engine feature. Take a photo with the 902iS's impressive 4 megapixel camera, and send the image to a search engine called "Evolution Robotics".
The search engine performs all sorts of fancy pattern recognition on the image, before informing the user whether the object in the image is stored in its database or not.
Presumably the user gets back more than a message saying "yes, that object is in our database", but exactly what this feature can be used for is currently unclear!

Korea's SK Telecom have launched their new HSDPA mobile phone network, offering data transfer speeds of up to 14.4Mbps. Unfortunately, the latest HSDPA-equipped phones will 'only' support 1.8Mbps. SK Telecom has had this problem in the past. So advanced is its network (and most other Korean networks), that it frequently outpaces the mobile phones that use it.

Gigabyte clearly feel that pink phones aren't enough to differentiate themselves from their competitors, and so have released the pink Gigabyte Barbie phone! Yup, a phone complete with Barbie plastered all over it. Or if you'd prefer, Snoopy, or, er, Keroro or Doreamon (who they?!).
Low specs, cute phones, hopefully pitched at kids, and not an attempt at another "women phone"!

Samsung have released the new Samsung SCH-W200 mobile TV phone. The SCH-W200 is the first HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) phone to become commercially available, and offers data transfer speeds of 1.8Mbps. Not content with being the fastest phone on the market, though, Samsung decided to throw in a few added extras - like mobile TV, a 2 megapixel camera, an MP3 player, and text to speech.

New pictures have emerged of the Samsung SCH-B600, Samsung's monster 10 megapixel camera phone. First announced at CeBit 2006 back in March, the Samsung SCH-B600 caused a major stir, not just because of the resolution of its camera, but also because Samsung provided this beast with a 3 x optical zoom and 1/2000th of a second shutter speed.
Pantech have released the new Pantech PG-3600V, which it describes as a "touch wheel music phone."
Apparently, the "revolutionary" touch wheel enables easy navigation by allowing users to sweep the wheel key with their fingers (you know, just like an Apple iPod - now that is revolutionary!)
