Samsung have announced the Samsung SCH-B470 - a mobile TV phone for the seriously addicted telly addict. Not content with just putting TV on a mobile phone, the SCH-B470 offers picture-in-picture - letting you see your TV programme on one side of the screen, whilst doing any of the million other things a Samsung phone will let you do on the other half.

Take pictures, manage and edit your picture files, choose your MP3 tunes and organize your playlists, mess around with your contact details, or even browse the web - all whilst your TV programme plays on.

If you're seriously addicted to TV, then how could you do without the SCH-B470? You'll never put it down - well, OK, maybe whilst driving!
The disadvantage of this is clearly the size of the display - as if watching TV on a mobile phone screen wasn't bad enough, halving the screen size to allow for picture-in-picture must make the display eye-wateringly myopic.
But for tedious sports like cricket, where nothing happens for months before a bit of action suddenly emerges, it could be a god-send. Show the cricket in one half of the screen whilst doing other things on the phone on the other half, with your lazy eye peripheral vision keeping an eye on the, er, great sporting event. Blow it up to full size when someone shouts "howzat!"

Featuring a 2 megapixel camera and MP3 player as well as DMB mobile TV, the Samsung SCH-B470 is yet another technological marvel from Samsung. Long may they continue :)
