Nokia have announced the new Nokia 5300, Nokia 5200 and Nokia 3250, three great looking mobile music phones.

Covering the full price range, from the low-end 5200 (EUR 200), through the slightly higher 5300 (EUR 250), to the more expensive 3250 (EUR 400), Nokia are pushing the music features of their new phones hard.

Mobile phone barcode Fujitsu have announced a completely new barcode that's invisible to the naked eye, but which can be read by mobile phones. The new barcode can encode info such as a URL, which can be decoded by the mobile phone, enabling web-based content to be downloaded onto the phone. As the picture shows, the idea is to get more information about a product simply by waving a mobile phone over it, or over related publicity material.

LG LF1300 phone reads books

LG LF1300 mobile phone LG have released a new phone for the visually impaired that can read books. At first glance, the ability o read a book from a phone sounds amazing, but looking at the details, the LG LF1300 simply downloads an audio book and speaks it to the user using voice synthesis. So, not too amazing, but a nice touch from LG for users not usually thought of by the mobile phone manufacturers.

The 16mm thin mobile phone also comes with MP3 player, bluetooth, and keypads specially developed for the visually impaired. I was initially surprised at the lack of a camera, but then I thought that one through!
