Nokia will be releasing new N-Gage phones early in 2007. The news leaked out from CTIA Wireless 2006 in Los Angeles, courtesy of CrunchGear.

Nokia announced they were going to integrate their N-Gage mobile gaming technology into future mobile phones back in February. True to their word, the new technology is taking shape, as the video (below) shows. The new N-Gage technology will obviously feature advanced 3D graphics, as well as online gaming, public chat, and the ability to download new games through an online marketplace.

More details and the video of Nokia's new N-Gage gaming technology after the jump.

Although it doesn't show too much of the games (worse luck), it at least gives an insight into how Nokia intend to integrate the N-Gage as a gaming platform for its future gaming phones.

Speculation still surrounds Nokia's intentions for the N-Gage, with rumours of a new Nokia N-Gage smartphone not entirely dismissed. At the very least, though, N-Gage technology is most certainly not dead, and will at least be incorporated into new Nokia phones coming in the first quarter of 2007.

This news comes hot on the heels of Nokia's partnership with EA, who will be releasing the following games for selected Nokia handsets "this holiday season" (what holiday season? It's mid-September, and this being Britain, it's raining buckets!)

  • Tetris
  • Tetris Mania
  • The Sims™2
  • Doom
  • FIFA 06
  • Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06
  • FIFA Street 2

Once Nokia release their N-Gage equipped gaming phones, EA will be releasing more "top EA titles" in mid-2007, designed specifically for the new platform.

So, the N-Gage is dead - long live the N-Gage!
