More Apple iPhone rumours are doing the rounds, with VNUnet reporting that the company are planning on releasing not one but two iPhones in March 2007. Apparently one will be a 3G smartphone, featuring WiFi, a full keyboard and video playback, while the other will be a standard GSM phone focusing purely on music.

Hot on the heels of the Nokia 6290 smartphone, Nokia have announced three more mid- and budget-range phones for release early next year - the Nokia 6086, 6300 and 2626.
Spanning a range of features, from WLAN to cameras to, well, not a lot, the three new Nokias are expected to sell by the bucketload next year, giving Nokia loads of cash to spend on more interesting N-Series phones!

Nokia have announced the new Nokia 6290, what the company is calling a smartphone. A good looking clamshell, the 6290 is a 3G phone featuring 2 megapixel camera, 2.2" 16 million colour screen, MP3 player and two way video calling. It's smartphone attributes come from the fact that it uses the Symbian S60 OS. However, compared to other genuine smartphones, such as the Sony Ericsson P990, it's not all that smart.

The amount of new features currently being crow-barred into mobile phones is staggering, and makes you wonder what amazing new tricks our mobile phones will be able to perform in a few years' time. Well, wonder no more, as this video of the "Sumsing" Turbo 3000Xi Multitask shows you just what you can expect should a team of Dutch designers ever be let loose in Samsung's R&D labs!!

Sony Ericsson have been rather slow in jumping on the mobile TV bandwagon (at least outside of Japan, anyway). While Nokia, Samsung and LG all shout loudly about their mobile TV phones, with the Korean firms in particular seemingly releasing a new mobile TV phone every week, Sony Ericsson have been quietly assessing the market and keeping their cards very close to their chest.
That's not to say they haven't beeen working on it, however. According to Sony and Ericsson (note: not Sony Ericsson, but the two separate companies Sony and Ericsson), they will shortly be developing software for mobile and broadband TV, but no news yet on a mobile TV handset.
Leaked pictures of the Nokia N93i have emerged. The Nokia N93i is, as its name suggests, an update of Nokia's existing N93 multimedia computer. The 93 focused on video, and although technologically superb, was seen by some as a bit, well, lardy. However, if rumoured specs are to be believed, the new N93i will still be the same size as its predecessor, which is a shame, as it was this that put some people off from buying it.

Camera Phones,
News
Flickr have released some interesting stats showing, amongst other things, which are the most popular camera phones its users use to upload their camera phone pics. As you can see from the graph, the top five are dominated by Sony Ericsson and Nokia, with the Sony Ericsson K750i coming out consistently on top.
What's interesting is that all the top 5 are not necessarily the most popular camera phones, but all are capable of taking good quality pics, meaning picture quality means more to your average flickr user's choice of mobile phone than any other feature. So if you want a decent quality camera phone this Christmas, just follow the flickrers!

Nokia N95

A Nokia N95 review has already been posted on the web! The Nokia N95 received huge attention when announced recently, and it's not expected to ship until early next year. That's not stopped The Nokialist from getting their hands on a pre-production model, though, it giving it a very thorough going over.

LG's Chocolate designer phone might have had great sales success, but one user has reported an interesting side-effect of keeping it in his pocket - it turned a distinctly off-white milky yellow colour. When he complained to LG, they replied that the phone was discoloured "because it's been in your pocket"!
Quite what the guy had been doing with the phone in his pocket, LG declined to mention.

A few days ago, the Nokia N97 was the latest rumour to do the rounds, and it looked and sounded great. Maybe a little too great. Unfortunately, it wasn't real - it was just an 'idea' posted in Nokia's forum that leaked out into the ever-twitchy blogosphere, where great pictures and even greater hype soon take over a post's true origins.
Damn it! It was a great phone too. Still, on the plus side, Nokia are currently up to the N95 in their numbering system, so a real N97 can't be too far away. And with the N97's supposed specs being equivalent to the N95, a real N97 may not be so different anyway. We can still dream...!
