Samsung SPH-P9000 - the world’s largest mobile phone

Samsung have announced a new, er, handset, designed to drive the adoption of WiBro, Korea's high-speed mobile Interent technology.
The Samsung SPH-P9000 Deluxe MIT is a bit of an odd one - part mobile phone, part PDA, part Internet tablet without the tablet!
It features all that you'd expect from a mobile phone.
1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 player, etc. But it also features a few things that you maybe weren't expecting.

The first thing you probably wouldn't expect is the screen. At 5 inches in size, it's twice the size of the largest mobile phone screens on offer today.
Obviously such a huge screen also makes the size of the device much larger than your average phone, pushing its size into notebook territory.
It also comes with a 30GB hard drive, again making it more of a notebook or PDA than a mobile phone. Indeed, Samsung are pitching the SPH-P9000 as a "convergence device" rather than a mobile phone. The problem with convergence devices, though, is that they can sometimes fall between the cracks of existing niches. I mean, can you imagine making a call on the thing?!
Not quite PDA, not quite mobile phone, the SPH-P9000 is certainly interesting, but more interesting still will be seeing how successful this device will be.
