Gorgeous New Sony Ericsson Concept Phone
Concept Phones are great, as they show what designers can do when they don’t have to worry about the mundane stuff, like actually fitting electronics into their designs. I mean, just ake alook at this: this is a new Sony Ericsson CyberShot concept phone that looks simply breathtaking. As slim as a credit card with a 3.2 megapixel camera, sleek slider design, and OLED touch sensitive keypad, this is a phone that would sell by the bucket load.

World’s most expensive phone looks like a golden sock
GoldVish, a Swiss company with a name seemingly inspired from Dracula’s love for his aquarium (“look at my GoldVish, and my lovely SvordVish!”), has gone into the Guiness Book of Records as makers of the world’s most expensive sock mobile phone. Costing 1 million EUROs, this jewel-encrusted solid gold mobile phone has been inexplicably shaped like two socks welded together.
Leaked Picture of Sony Ericsson K620i
Sony Ericsson may be working on a new 3.2 megapixel Sony Ericsson K620i. The new phone is rumoured to be an upgrade of the existing Sony Ericsson K610i, which itself is no lightweight phone.
The old K610i comes a 3G phone with video recording, email client, MP3 player and all the usual features you’d expect.
The rumoured K620i adds to this with a 3.2 megapixel camera (no word yet on whether it’ll be branded a CyberShot phone or not) and 100MB of storage.
New Motorola ROKR E6 – Have Motorola got it right this time?
Motorola’s original ROKR was born in a blizzard of hype.
Dubbed the ‘iTunes phone’, it was the first phone to feature Apple’s iTunes service, and helped spawn the new blizzard of iPhone hype we’re currently being swamped with.
Unfortunately for Motorola, the ROKR soon died an ugly death of shame, embarrassment and chronic disillusionment, as it was hobbled by Apple, and could only store 100 tunes.
Motorola tried again with the stillborn ROKR E2 and the E3, but that was pants as well, despite ditching the iTunes service.
Now, Motorola are trying again, with the Motorola ROKR E6, a brand new update on a much ridiculed phone. So have they got it right this time?
What phone to get your Dad this Christmas?
My old man’s a dustman…actually, he’s not, but he used to be! Anyway, this year, I asked him what he wanted for Christmas, and he said “a new mobile phone”. Obviously, I’m the guy who knows what phone to get someone right? Well, you’d think, but with such a huge variety of phones on the market, some more details on exactly what type of phone he’d like really wouldn’t hurt!
So I asked him: “what type of phone are you looking for?” “A slider” he says. No more details were forthcoming!
So, with just this to go on, and a budget of about £120, it was my job to play Santa and get my Dad the phone he wants (even if he doesn’t know what type of phone he wants!)

New Samsung Ultra Video and Ultra Music ultra phones
Samsung have announced a new range of phones called the Samsung Ultra. The Samsung F500, or Ultra Video, is, as you’ve probably guessed, a video-based phone. Featuring an innovative twisting form factor, the F500 comes with 2 megapixel camera, 2GB storage and Bluetooth. On the video front, it comes with a DivX codec, as well as support for MPEG4, H.264, WMV and AVI, so Samsung are pushing this as a full PMP mobile phone.
