Apple iPhone buzz goes into overdrive

MacWorld 2007 has officially opened, and Steve Jobs is giving his keynote speech as I write. Rumours have been rife for some time now that this is finally the day when Jobs will announce the Apple iPhone. And boy, has this got the blogosphere buzzing. Check out this BlogPulse graph showing the number of blog posts that have mentioned the term "iPhone" in the past 6 months.
The big spike around December 17th was when Gizmodo claimed the iPhone would be released on December 19th. That turned out to be true, but it wasn't the Apple iPhone, it was the Linksys iPhone, with Linksys having the trademark to 'iPhone' all along.
The spike that's forming now, while not yet as great as December 17th, is near vertical, and should be off the scale by this time tomorrow. Fingers crossed Jobs does actually launch the iPhone and finally outs us all out of our misery!
