CES 2007: New Sony Ericsson K790a CyberShot phone
Sony Ericsson showed off the new Sony Ericsson K790a CyberShot phone at CES 2007. Somewhat overshadowed by another mobile phone launch taking place somewhere else, Sony Ericsson's new K790a is not really a new phone, more an update of its existing CyberShot range.
The K790a is a 3.2 megapixel camera phone that offers easy moblogging through a feature that lets you upload your pics directly to your blog.

The spec of the K790a is as follows:
- 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera
- Xenon flash with red eye reduction
- Macro, BestPic, Scene modes, PictBridge printing
- Video and image stabilizer function
- 64MB internal memory
- Mobile blogging (powered by Blogger)
- FM radio with RDS
- Tri-Band GSM/EDGE
As you can see, its features are firmly camera-focused, with auto-focus, red eye reduction and image stabilization features all borrowed from Sony's much-respected CyberShot series of cameras. Unfortunately, it's only tri-band GSM, offering no 3G connectivity.

That said, it'll walk all over Apple's 2 megapixel camera on its iPhone. In fact, given the iPhone isn't due for release until June 2007, its camera features will look decidedly old fashioned by the time of its launch. Good job the camera isn't its main feature (which is certainly what Sony Ericsson is counting on!)
