3GSM 2007: Samsung to show off its Ultra Smart F700
Samsung will be showing off its new Samsung Ultra Smart F700 smartphone at 3GSM this week. Not content with leaving Nokia to have all the glory, the new F700 is a fantastic looking smartphone that looks set to beat Nokia's new E90 Communicator at its own game.
Hyped as the iPhone killer (but then what new phone isn't?!), the Ultra Smart F700 is fully loaded, as you'd expect from a Samsung smartphone. But it's the looks that make it really stand out. When closed, it bears a close resemblance to the iPhone, at least in terms of minimalism. Oh, and the features - when Samsung say smart, they really mean smart!
More details and pictures of the Samsung Ultra Smart F700 after the jump.
Where the Ultra Smart F700 really shines is its feature list, though, which makes the iPhone look like an arthritic dinosaur from the last century!
For example, where the iPhone sports EDGE, the F700 offers HSDPA, and is capable of download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps.
The iPhone offers a measly 2 megapixel camera, so the F700 boasts a full 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus. Ah, but what about the iPhone's touch-screen? Yup, the F700 has one of those as well, and it's big - 2.78" big. It also comes with drag and drop functionality, and VibeTonez technology, which makes the phone vibrate slightly when you slide your finger over a virtual button. This makes the user interface much more tactile, and therefore much more intuitive to use.

"The introduction of our Ultra Smart F700 reflects the needs of today' consumers by including features such as touch screen, enhanced connectivity to mobile internet, and access to an array of multimedia content," said Geesung Choi, President of Samsung’s Telecommunications Network Business.
"The Ultra Smart F700 is a good example of how mobile phone will evolve in the future. Samsung will focus on bringing products that reflect and pursue our position as a premium leader."

Apple certainly set the benchmark with its iPhone, and now it seems there's a queue of competitors all hurdling over it! I'm looking forward to seeing the Samsung Ultra Smart F700 break cover at 3GSM in the next few days
