More pictures of the Sony Ericsson P700i smartphone

Sony Ericsson P700i smartphone The Sony Ericsson P700i smartphone is really starting to take shape, and should be announced very soon (indeed, one enterprising Chillean individual has already started selling one on EBay - though whether it's the real deal or a mock-up is open to question).

As you can see form these pics, the one thing that hits you about the P700i is its size - smart it may be, but it'll certainly not put a bulge in your pockets.

Videos of Sony Ericsson W44S mobile TV phone

Sony Ericsson phones outside of Japan, while great-looking handsets, are falling a bit behind their competitors' phones, particularly from the likes of Nokia and Samsung. Not so in Japan, though, where phones have traditionally been technologically superior to those released in other markets. As a result, Japanese Sony Ericsson phones also have to be tech-heavy if they're to compete - and these videos of the Sony Ericsson W44S show just what we're missing out on outside of Japan.

More videos and details of the Sony Ericsson W44S after the jump.

Samsung Ultra 5.9 World’s slimmest phone now on sale

Samsung Ultra Edition 5.9 - world's slimmest mobile phone Samsung has finally launched the Samsung Ultra Edition 5.9, so called because, at just 5.9mm thin, it's the world's slimmest mobile phone. The Ultra 5.9 was first announced a few months back, and manages to achieve a thinness previously thought impossible (due in large part to the size of the internal aerial, which Samsung has managed to shrink using magic!).

The Ultra 5.9, though small, is surprisingly feature-laden and sturdy. It comes with a 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, Bluetooth, and even an electronic dictionary.

On sale now in Korea only at the moment, but expected to go on sale in other markets across the world in a few months' time.

Concept pictures of Google Phone

Google phone concept phone The Google phone is just a rumour at the moment (and will probably never be an actual phone anyway), but that hasn't stopped Chinese photoshop guru Dogor from coming up with these glorious images of what a Google phone might look like.

Well, I say a Google phone - what I actually mean is a general concept phone in the mind of Dogor with Google's logo slapped on it for maximum buzz, but who am I to be so cynical? Presumably if the Google phone rumours weren't doing the rounds, Dogor would have called this the nipple phone!

Anyway, cynicism aside, Dogor's done a mighty fine Photoshop job.

Samsung SGH-i400 smartphone not so smart

Samsungf SGH-i400 smartphone mobile phone Samsung have announced the new Samsung SGH-i400 smartphone. Based on the Symbian S60 OS (which has just celebrated its 100 millionth S60-powered handset being sold), the i400 is a sleek-looking slider, but not the smartest of smartphones. In fact, for a Samsung, its feature set is pretty sparse. It comes with a 2 megapixel camera, .2" QVGA screen with 262,000 colours, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, MP3 player and a web browser. Not even 3G, making you wonder quite where the 'smart' comes from for this smartphone (oh yes, S60!)

More details of the Samsung SGH-i400 after the jump.

Ballmer hints at new Microsoft phone

Microsoft Zune phone or Microsoft mobile phone Rumours have been doing the rounds recently that Microsoft might be working on a Zune phone. The Zune, if you recall, is Microsoft's iPod-killer MP3 device that singularly failed to kill any MP3 player, let alone the iPhone. According to the rumours, the Zune phone is meant to be Microsoft's answer to Apple's forthcoming iPhone (and if it's as bad as the Zune itself, Apple won't exactly be losing any sleep!)

Now Microsoft's Steve Ballmer has categorically ruled out a Microsoft Zune phone...but he didn't rule out a Microsoft phone either....

New LG mobile TV tactile broadcast phones

LG tactile broadcast mobile TV phones LG are to develop mobile TV phones that vibrate in response to action on the screen. The LG tactile broadcast phones will respond to certain events on the TV, such as the ball hitting the back fo a net, or a car exploding, by vibrating at the same moment.

In addition, there'll also be several LEDs plastered all over the phones that will pulsate in time to audio and visual content (in three dimensions, apparently!)

"We have developed new mobile phone technology which adds the sense of touch to the traditional modes of sight and hearing," said LG Electronics spokesman Song Keun-Young.

Pictures of new PSP gaming phone

PSP gaming phone Marvel at these pics of what appears to be a brand new PSP gaming phone. Featuring a dual-slider form factor similar to the Samsung SGH-F520 smartphone, but with gaming controls replacing the F520's keypad, the Anycall Dual Blonde, as this super-cool phone is called (somewhat bizarrely!), is a Windows Mobile device with touchscreen, 3 megapixel camera, and is designed purely for game playing.

However, although this phone isn't fake, all is not as it first appears...

Leaked pictures of Sony Ericsson S500i/Shinobu

Sony Ericsson S500i or Sony Ericsson Shinobu These may be leaked pics of the Sony Ericsson S500i.

I say may, as although the phone has clearly moved from the "is it a fake?" stage to the "it's real but what's it called?" stage of the rumour-mill, no-one yet knows what it's called.

I posted a video of the S500i a few days' back, but even then, no-one knew its model name.

Despite this, I can reveal (drum-roll please!) that it is, in fact, the Sony Ericsson model currently codenamed Shinobu.

More details and pics of the Sony Ericsson S500i (for want of a better name!) after the jump.
