Sony flexible mobile phone screen display Mobile phones have come in all manner of different shapes and sizes over the years. Standard candy bars, clamshells, sliders, swivel designs - even odd origami-like multi-twisty phones. One thing all these different phone types have in common, though, is flatness. The fascia of the phone is always completely flat, largely because the screen itself has to be flat.

All that may be about to change, though, as Sony have been showing off a brand new flexible LED screen.

Sony's new screen is made entirely of plastic, which when combined with OLED technology, provides a completely bendable TV screen. Currently, Sony have only been showing off a 2.5 inch version of the screen, with bigger screen sizes set to come, but that's the perfect size for mobile phones.

Not sure how useful a bendy mobile phone would be, but that's never stopped handset designers in the past!
