Buying a smartphone - but not from Carphone Warehouse
The saga of my hunt for a smartphone begins. I went into my local Carphone Warehouse today.
"Do you sell the Nokia E90 Communicator?" I asked.
"The what?" was the reply.
"The Nokia E90 Communicator."
"E90 what? What's a communicator?"
"It's a Nokia smarpthone."
"Never heard of it!"...
Great start! Unfortunately, it gets worse...
"Do you sell any smartphones?" I asked.
"We sell the O2 XDA."
"Can I have a look at one?"
"No."
"Oh. Why not?"
"We don't have them in stock. We can order one in for you."
"Great, can I have a look at it then?"
"No, you have to buy it."
"So I can't see it in action first?"
"What, like a demo?"
"Yes."
"No."
Marvellous! Probably won't be getting my smartphone from Carphone Warehouse then!
