Nokia announce laser-etched 7900 and 7500 Prism phones

Nokia have announced two new designer phones.
Called the Nokia Prism collection, the Nokia 7900 Prism and Nokia 7500 Prism aren't massively feature-rich, but they do have a few tricks up their sleeves.
The 7900 Prism, for example, has an OLED main screen, and features what Nokia calls "living wallpaper", which changes the background of the screen according to the time of day, and also battery and signal strength. Apparently, no two phones will share the same pattern, making each phone unique.
More details of the Nokia Prism collection after the jump.
The first thing that immediately hits you about the Prisms is their design, which is perhaps just as well given that they're designer phones! Both are slim candybar phones, but it's the diamond-like pattern on the front that immediately sets them out from the crowd.
The back of the phones has also had a bit of attention paid to it, as it's laser-etched with the same diamond-shaped pattern as the front. Of course there's also a camera lens on the back, but it's only a 2 megapixel camera, and so is nothing special.

The 7900 Prism comes with some pretty neat light effects, with both the keypad and main screen illuminating in complementary diamond patterns when a call comes in. The light effect makes good use of the 7900's 16 million colour OLED screen, so this should be one phone that makes quite a statement when you show it off to your mates.
The 7900 comes with 1 GB of storage, and dual-band 3G and quad-band GSM connectivity, and so is capable of making calls pretty much anywhere across the world.
The Nokia 7900 Prism release date is set for the third quarter of 2007, priced around 400 Euros.
Nokia 7500 Prism
The 7500 Prism is the 7900's little brother (or "quirky sibling" as Nokia calls it). The 7500 Prism doesn't have the same light effects as the 7900, but it does come with a 2 megapixel camera, can record high quality videos, and can support an optional 2GB of storage.
The 7500 also comes with "exchangeable colour accents", in which the side of the phone can be made pink, green or blue, with the main screen's wallpaper reflecting the same colour to create a harmonious effect.
The Nokia 7500 Prism release date is also set for the second quarter of 2007, priced 210 Euros.
