Samsung Disney phones - Samsung DM-S110 and Samsung DM-S105
Samsung have teamed up with Disney to launch two new kid-friendly phones that are designed as much for parents as for the kids who'll use them. The Samsung DM-S105 and Samsung DM-S110 are two new clamshell phones with Disney branding on the covers and a Disney-oriented theme throughout their user interfaces.

More details after the jump.

More importantly from a parent's perspective, the two new phones also feature built-in GPS so a kid can be located if lost (or if kidnapped, apparently, which shows just how paranoid the world has become!) and a "family alarm" that sends a pre-saved message to family members at the touch of a button.

Thinking back to my childhood days, my message would have been "burger n' chips again, please Mum!", but I don't think that's quite what Samsung has in mind!

According to a Samsung official, "In addition to a VGA camera and Bluetooth technology, the Disney phone features various functions that families need in everyday life. The phone is for kids, but in order not to give that impression the exterior design is as sharp as Samsung's other mobile phones."

Right...so you create a phone that's designed not to look like a kid's phone, then plaster the word "Disney" all over it! Great if you're 8, but any older, and the phone might as well have a ringtone that screams "go ahead, beat me up, I'm the nerdiest kid you know!"

The Samsung Disney phone s will retail for $199 in the US.
