I’ve had my Nokia E90 Communicator for a couple for weeks now, and I’m really starting to use it in earnest. What are my impressions so far? One word: awesome! I’ve stopped thinking of it as a mobile phone, and see it more as a laptop for those times when I don’t actually have my laptop with me.

It’s everything I wanted it to be. It’s the perfect web browser for when you’ve got time to kill and just want to browse the web. When you’re watching TV with friends, for example, and aren’t really interested in the Tv programme itself – you can simply whip out the E90 and start reading the latest TechCrunch articles to while away 10 minutes or so.

But it’s become more than just a 24/7 web browser…much more…

I’ve found that I’m actually starting to rely on the E90 to manage my life. Its toDo list feature is so easy to use and so useful, that the E90 has become the way I manage my life. It’s so convenient, it’s actually replaced my paper-based Filofax.

Now, I’m obviously no luddite, but I’ve never used an electronic organizer, as I always found them too slow to use, and certainly much slower that making entries inot a paper-based organizer such as the Filofax.

But suddenly, the E90 has replaced the Filofax. It’s that easy to use, it’s begun to actually manage my life for me, rather than be a burden that other organizers have become.

The Web browsing functionality of the E90 is simply superb. The screen is great, the browser is great, and the keyboard makes accessing and interacting with Web pages a doddle. I can check information on the web wherever and whenever.

It helps that I’ve got an unlimited Web n Walk package from T-Mobile, which means I get HSDPA web access (currently 2.6Mbps) for just £27 a month, with a 3GB monthly limit. As such, I can either use Wi-Fi or HSDPA to connect to the Web no matter where I am, and not worry about the cost, as it’s all a flat rate fee.

This means that I’ve come to use the Web even more than I used. I’m now, literally, constantly connected, and just as flat-rate broadband freed us all from the tyranny of pay per minute Web access offered by slow dial-up accounts, and so fundamentally changed the way we all used the Web, so 24/7 mobile access is changing the way I use the Web even more.

For a blogger, this is absolutely essential. If you blog for a living, or blog anything like professionally, I can’t recommend the E90 highly enough – it really is that good at keeping you constantly in contact with the Web and the blogosphere.

But the E90 offers so much more. Tomorrow, I’m off to London to see a show and generally have a good day out. I’ve no idea where I’m going yet, but I don’t care, as the E90’s Sat-Nav features are so good, I’ll use it to guide me to where I want to go rather than a map.

I’ll tell you how well its Sat-Nav features work tomorrow, but judging by the huge array of points of interest it’s already identified for more, I’m guessing I won’t have a problem finding things I want to do.

So far, then, the E90 is organizing my life, keeping me constantly connected with the Web, and is helping me navigate my way around the world. It truly is a fantastic device, and I’ve only just scratched the surface of its power.

More details of the Nokia E90 will be posted soon as this glorious device starts to take over my life completely!
