Toshiba Portege G450 mobile phone
Toshiba have announced the Toshiba Portege G450, a phone that quite simply looks like no other. In fact, it looks more like a USB key with a few bells and whistles on it, and that's not coincidence. Toshiba aimed to create a new mobile phone that acts as a Swiss Army Knife both in terms of function (well, not literally - there's no knife in it!) and form.

Looking at the G450, you can't help but be impressed by the way it looks. Looking like a combination of a Swiss Army Knife and an MP3 player, the G450 is surprisingly advanced, as you'd expect for a device bearing Toshiba's Portege brand.

Featuring a USB port, MP3 player, OLED screen, 160MB of memory, and 3G and HSDPA, the G450 somehow manages to squeeze all of this into a device just 36mm x 98mm x 16mm in size, and weighing only 57g.

As a blogger without a landline broadband connection (just moved house, and my broadband service won't be switched on until 25th Jan), I'd be lost without my Nokia E90 and its super-fast HSDPA to use as a modem. Having the same features available in such a tiny phone makes perfect sense for the traveller on the go, who doesn't perhaps need all the bells and whistles of a high-end phone, but does need to be always connected to the Internet, and at a high data rate.

For those of you looking for such a device, that's both stylish and super-portable, the Toshiba Portege G450 could be just what you're looking for.
