Google Android T-Mobile G2
HTC had the unfortunate mishap the other day of having their entire 2009 line-up of phones leaked for the whole world to see. Among these gems were a number of new Android phones that acted as little teasers for what’s to come in the months ahead.

One of the phones is rumoured to be the new T-MobileG2, the second Android phone for the mobile operator that should be an improvement over the already well-received G1. Unfortunately, although we have pics, we have no specs.

There were two other Android phones in the range as well, though.

The first was a new Android phone that may be on its way to Vodafone. After O2 secured the iPhone in the UK and T-Mobile scooped the first Google Android handset, Vodafone must be feeling a bit unloved. The new Vodafone Android handset would help make them feel a bit better, but only if it’s better than the G2.

If it’s only on a par with the G1, it’ll see Vodafone seriously trailing behind its competitors, and I can’t see them liking that much at all!
Android Hero in pink
The third Android phone is a bit of a curiosity. It’s called the Android Hero, and it’s in an almost eye-wateringly luminescent shade of pink. No idea who it’s destined for or where, but hopefully it won’t be in the UK with those colours!

There’s also a bevvy of new Windows Mobile devices, including new versions of its Touch Diamond and Touch HD smartphones, but it’s the Android phones I’m interested in – Windows Mobile phones are ten a penny, and it’s a hideous operating system!

Of course, all this is just speculation – sure, we’ve seen pictures of the devices, but with no concrete details, there’s no idea of what we’re actually looking at with any of them! Just supposition, speculation and idle teccie gossip – glorious!

However, with at least one and possibly three new Android phones from HTC alone, plus several in the wings from the likes of Asus, Samsung, Motorola and Sony Ericsson, it looks like 2009 is going to see the Android market begin to stretch its wings a bit. Can’t wait!
