General Mobile DLTS1 Android phone
More new Android devices are just around the corner. General Mobile (who?!) will be showing off the General Mobile DLST1 Android phone at MWC 2009 in a couple of weeks, while T-Mobile’s Senior VP for Engineering and Operations, Neville Ray, has told Fierce Wireless that the company will be releasing more Android phones to succeed the G1 later in 2009.

As there’s no more details from T-Mobile on their new G2 (assuming that’s what it’ll be called), we’ll stick with the General Mobile Android phone, which, if it’s released as promised, looks like it’ll give the HTC-based G1 a good run for its money.

More details after the jump.

General Mobile DLTS1 Android Phone

General Mobile DLTS1 Android phone - shiny!
The unfortunately-named General Mobile DLTS1 Android Phone looks really impressive. It has all three characteristics needed for a phone to be truly lustworthy – thin, black and shiny (although silver also works as well!)

As it’s based on the Android platform, it has a completely touchscreen interface, but its spec seems to beat that or the T-Mobile G1. For a start, there’s a 5 megapixel camera compared with the G1’s 3 megapixel one, and a glorious 3″ WQVGA touchscreen display.

There’s also a super-fast 624MHz processor, a whopping 4GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Although the DLTS1 will be on show at MWC 2009, it won’t be released until Q3. Let’s just hope it makes it, and looks as good as these promo pics suggest it will.
