Nokia Erdos – the phone the billionaire would buy

I think it must be the time of year when Nokia wakes up – fresh from its recent X-Series and N900 phones, it’s now released a promo video for a new super-luxury phone. Called the Nokia Erdos, the new designer phone is the latest in Nokia’s 88xx range that typically cost an arm, a leg and several, yet don’t tend to do all that much.
Apparently, the thinking behind such phones is that billionaires (the preferred customer of the luxury phone) are so concerned with buying a phone that’s super-exclusive (i.e. so expensive that no-one else can afford to buy it), they don’t actually care what features the phone has. Accordingly, the Nokia Erdos is basically a dressed-up Nokia N95 with a super-sexy polished aluminium case, and an astronomical price tag that makes sure the phone remains super-exclusive.
Am I being too harsh? Well, check out the video after the jump.
The Erdos features the following specs:
- Yet another 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics
- Measly dual LED flash
- Wi-Fi
- aGPS
- Bluetooth
- HSPA
- S60
- OLED screen
- zzzzz!
Stop me when you’ve heard all this before!
As I said, though, features aren’t the main draw of the Erdos – its exclusivity, style and price! Speaking of which, no news yet on how much it’ll cost, but you won’t have long to wait, as it’s rumoured to be announced in October. Better start saving then, all you billionaires out there!
