Leaked pics & video of dual-core Nokia tablet
If you thought Nokia has been a bit quiet lately, ti could be because they’ve been hard at work on this, a hitherto unexpected Nokia tablet. Details are extremely sketchy at the moment, but it’s rumoured to feature ST-Ericsson’s U8500 system-on-a-chip, which itself is powered by two 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A9 chips.
Even more interesting, this Nokia tablet looks exactly like an ST Ericsson reference design that was on display at the ARM Techcon Conference in November last year; and as you can see from a video taken at that conference, one of the customers announced for the U8500 was indeed…Nokia!

So this is all starting to make sense. Nokia has a tablet in the works that’s powered by ST Ericsson’s U8500. It’s a dual-core chip that features great graphics processing abilities, 1080p video and built-in HSPA mobile connectivity, which shoul mean the Nokia tablet comes pretty well equipped.
Now, all Nokia has to do is to develop the tablet and actually get it to market, rather than kill it off at the last minute like so many other Nokia products at the moment!
