Wireless, inkless, portable Polaroid PoGo printer for your camera phone

Back in the days of the 1970s, if you wanted a photo instantly, you used a Polaroid camera, which not only took a photo, but also developed it instantly as well, coming as it did with its own technology for developing the print on special paper. Some years later, digital camera technology came along and all but killed off the film-based camera market, with pics that could be seen instantly, either on the camera’s screen or on your PC.

So you’d think that Polaroid, whose sole unique selling point was the ability to show the pics you’ve taken instantly, would also be dead. But you’d be wrong. Turns out that we still like to see our pics on paper, and now that we’re used to the instantaneous speed of seeing our pics in digital form that the digital camera offers, we also want to see our pics on paper, well, instantly.

Step forward Polaroid and their brand new, and rather neat looking, Polaroid PoGo Inkless Digital Photo Printer.

Balls! Sony Ericsson release odd new Bluetooth speaker

Sony Ericsson have released the Sony Ericsson MBS-100 Portable Bluetooth Speaker. The MBS-100 is actually a pretty neat idea. It looks great, and as it runs on batteries and supports Bluetooth streaming, it’s completely portable.

As such, you can take it with your wherever you go, and when you want everyone to listen to your tunes, simply pair your phone with the new speaker, press play, and your tunes will be instantly streamed wirelessly through the MBS-100.

Just make sure you don’t inadvertently select James Blunt, as playing Blunt in public is a criminal offence!

CTIA 2007: Motorola T605 in-car music phone streamer

Motorola have announced the Motorola T605 in-car music streamer at CTIA 2007. The T605 lets you stream music from your mobile phone to your car stereo over Bluetooth, and even pauses the music automatically when you receive a call.

But don’t take my word for it – MediaMentalism has far more to say on the Motorola T605.

CeBIT 2007: Samsung B&O Bluetooth headset

Samsung have been showing off their latest Bluetooth headset, the Samsung WEP420. Nothing particularly innovative about it, apart from the design, which Samsung gave to Bang & Olufsen (B & O), famed top-end purveyors of Hi-Fi.

As you can see from the pics, though, the design isn’t all that innovative either – after all, what can you do with an earpiece that’s generally meant to be as inconspicuous as possible? B&O’s solution was to concentrate instead on the WEP 420’s docking station, which is huge and, frankly, rather pointless!

Bonkers PerCushion Handsfree Pillow Phone

Just when you thought you’d seen everything in the world of mobile phones comes this, the PerCushion Pillow Phone. Basically, it’s a pillow (i.e. the thing you use to sleep on) with a Bluetooth device embedded inside it that connects to your mobile phone (i.e. the thing you do not use to get a good night’s sleep!).

Not only Bluetooth – the PerCushion alos comes with an integratged microphone, loudspeaker, rechargeable lithium ion battery and LEDs that indicate whether the pillow’s receiving a call or not (though presumably the loud ringtone screaming into your ear as you sleep might also indicate a call coming in!)

Nice idea, but file this under “barking mad”!!

Sony Ericsson MBW-100 Bluetooth Watch – pointless?

Sony Ericsson MBW-100 Bluetooth Watch for mobile phones

There have been Bluetooth watches before, most of which have led me to ask “why?” However, they’re now no longer the preserve of small-time gizmo makers with a Build-it-yourself Bluetooth-kit and too much time on their hands, as Sony Ericsson have joined the frey with their new Sony Ericsson MBW-100 Bluetooth Watch.

More details of the Sony Ericsson MBW-100 Bluetooth Watch after the jump.

Citizen i:VIRT Bluetooth watch – damn ugly!

Citizen have released the i:VIRT, a watch equipped with Bluetooth that enables you to connect to your mobile phone and reject or accept calls, and see who called you. Not actually talk to anyone, you understand, but at least you can see who you’re about to talk to!

For this, er, amazing feature, though, you have to put up with looks that its own mother would struggle to complement! So, pointless features, crap looks. Er, go out and buy it now?!

Motorola Bluetooth Beanie for Bennies

Motorola Burton Bluetooth beanie

Motorola have teamed up with Burton again and come up with the ultimate in burk-wear: A beanie with built-in Bluetooth headphones!

According to Motorola, “Burton brings the style, and Motorola brings the knowledge…” and you, apparently, bring the gormless look of the uber-dweeb, screaming down the piste whilst fiddling with your super-cool Bluetooth beanie gadget!

Control your car with your mobile phone

Ever wanted to control your car with your mobile phone? James Bond did it once, so why can’t you?

That’s obviously what Connect2Car thought when they dreamt up the SoftDash and MFC Multi-Function Controller (obviously more thought went into the concept than the name!).

This device lets you control car with your mobile phone or PDA through a bluetooth connection.

Madness? Oh yes! Read on to find out just what you can do with Connect2Car’s oddest Bluetooth accessory in the world!

CeBIT 2006: Parrot remote control mobile phone

Parrot have announced a couple of Bluetooth products at CeBIT 2006 that essentially make your mobile phone a remote control (albeit one that actually contains the content you want to control). First up is their Bluetooth Sound System, which essentially comprises two 60 Watt Bluetooth-enabled speakers. Why would you want Bluetooth speakers? For your new music phone, of course. Simply switch your phone on (a nice Sony Ericsson Walkman, perhaps, or Samsung’s i301 8GB music phone), select your tune of choice, and as long as you’re within 10 metres of these beauties, the music will stream from your phone and out through these speakers, in a slightly louder form than you’d get from the phone’s speaker. The only difference between this and your conventional remote is that the tunes are stored in your mobile phone, and you can take your tunes with you.
