Qisda QCM-330 wins sexiest Android phone award
Continuing with our Android Day theme, we now have news of the Qisda QCM-330, a super-slim touchscreen phone that’s just won the iF mobile design contest. Normally I’d put such pics down to flashy concept phones, but apparently this one’s for real – it’s heading for Vodafone across Europe later in the year.
Apart form its thinness and exceptional good looks, the Qisda is rumoured to be toting Android under its sleek shell, and comes with a whopping 1280 x1024 display.
One thing we don’t know, though, is what the interface is like. The main features are like every other Android phone, and although the design of the phone looks gloriously sexy, if the user interface is the stock Android interface, it might be a bit of a disappointment.
Hopefully we’ll find out at next week’s MWC 2010.

Leaked pics of the HTC Incredible help celebrate Android Day
Today must surely be Android Day if the raft of news, leaks and announcements is anything to go by. Everything’s Android from every direction and seemingly every manufacturer!
First up is this, the gloriously named HTC Incredible. Nothing like boasting about your achievements, I guess, but does the Incredible live up to its name? Well, it’s got the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.7″ screen (possibly AMOLED) and the usual raft of features you’d expect from an Android machine.
Speaking of which, it’s Android 2.1, which, combined with HTC’s renowned Sense UI should certainly make the Incredible glorious if nothing else!
More leaked pics of the HTC Incredible after the jump.
Leaked pictures of LG Arena Max LU9400
LG are slowly but surely jumping on the Android bandwagon. Not only have they got a couple of Android handsets on the market now, but they’ve also got a few high-powered phones lined up for release later in the year as well.
Take this for example. It’s rumoured to be the LG Arena Max LU9400, which as well as featuring a 3.5″ touchscreen, GPS, WiFi and 5 megapixel camera, will also come with the legendary Snapdragon 1GHz processor.
Mmmm, tasty!
Microsoft Zune phone to showcase WinMo7 at MWC
The hottest rumours surrounding MWC 2010 at the moment are all about Windows Mobile 7, which apparently will be announced at the show. Not just Windows Mobile 7, though – a brand new Microsoft phone.
Yes, it’s time to roll out those well-worn Microsoft Zune rumours out again!
Leaked pictures of Sony Ericsson Kanna (fugly phone – take two!)
Boy, this is obviously the night for fugly phones! This is a leaked pic of the Sony Ericsson Kanna, which apparently will be announced at MWC 2010 next month.
Now, granted, these are just pics of the pre-production model, but even it smother couldn’t be proud of a design like that! Whether it’s the ugly looking keyboard or grotesque user interface (yep, Symbian S60 unfortunately!), it’s almost like Sony Ericsson put anti-designers to work designing this thing!
The specs are good, though, which they should be, andin many ways echo those of the newly-announced Vivaz.
More details after the jump.
The night before the iPhone 4
This year, we’ve been treated to the Google Nexus One, HTC Supersonic, Nokia X6 (out today), Sony Ericsson Vivaz and X10, and a pair of Palms, to name just some of the highlights.
And it’s still only January!
I say this because today, the whole mobile phone and gadget industryies are battening down their hatches ready for the big one – the Apple Event of the Year, where Steve Jobs will be announcing not just that Apple tablet thing, but also (possibly) the iPhone version 4.
Consequently, there isn’t a peep to be heard from the rest of the mobile phone industry, as they know any new announcement now would be lost in a blizzard of hype in seconds!
It’s exciting stuff, though. Will the iPhone 4 herald a new chapter in the iPhone’s history, able to take on the new challenge threatened by Android? Or will it just be an incremental upgrade, with the Apple Tablet taking centre stage? Will Steve Jobs even mention the iPhone, for that matter (of course he will!)
We’ll know tomorrow at 6pm GMT. Stick with us, as we’ll be live-blogging the event again (albeit from across the pond!), focusing on the mobile news. We’ll also be tweeting all the important juicy bits, so follow us if you can’t make it to your PC in time.
After all this excitement, surely next month will be calmer (no wait, next month’s MWC 2010!!!)
Motorola Motosplit – fake or fugly fone?
Fresh from their recent success with Android smartphones, Motorola have found a renewed confidence and are working on fresh mobile phone designs that can only be described as, er, bold!
One such design in this, the Motorola Motosplit, which as its name suggests, contains a split keyboard sandwiching the main screen of the phone.
It’s an odd design and one that was tried (unsuccessfully) by Nokia some years ago with the Nokia 6820. The reason it never worked then is because:
More iPhone 4G rumours surface
With Apple rumoured to be announcing its 4th generation iPhone on January 27th (along with one or two other products, apparently!), the rumours are flying thick and fast over what could be included.
Fortunately, French site NowhereElse.fr (which apparently is French for “Nowhere else” ;) has rendered a nice visualization of the rumoured specs, with nice, if completely arbitrary, probabilities of each feature.
Nexus Two or Motorola Shadow? You decide!
After all the excitement of the Google Nexus One a couple of weeks ago, what better way for the mobilati to entertain ourselves than to indulge in some Nexus Two speculation?!
And right on cue, here we go – Photoshop mockups of what somebody thinks the Nexus Two could look like.
Actually, they’re mockups of the Motorola Shadow, another Motorola Android handset that’s set for release later this year. But rumours are suggesting Google might just co-opt it and rebrand it the Nexus Two.
Whatever it’s called, the phone looks to be a giant leap ahead of the Nexus One, which is no mean feat! Check out the details of the Motorola Shadow after the jump.
HTC Supersonic: even more super than Google’s Superphone
HTC, the company who gave us the Nexus One, which Google termed the Superphone, are rumoured to be working on another new super phone, this time called the HTC Supersonic. And like the Nexus One and HTC HD2 before it, this one looks like it’s going to be yet another killer.
I say that, because it seems to combine all of the best bits of both phones, and then add a few more into the mix. Like what, you may ask? How about 4G.
Mmmm, tasty! Read on for more details after the jump.
