CeBIT 2007: Samsung B&O Bluetooth headset
Samsung have been showing off their latest Bluetooth headset, the Samsung WEP420. Nothing particularly innovative about it, apart from the design, which Samsung gave to Bang & Olufsen (B & O), famed top-end purveyors of Hi-Fi.
As you can see from the pics, though, the design isn’t all that innovative either – after all, what can you do with an earpiece that’s generally meant to be as inconspicuous as possible? B&O’s solution was to concentrate instead on the WEP 420’s docking station, which is huge and, frankly, rather pointless!
CeBIT 2007: Samsung SGH-P110 Schizophrenic phone
Just when you thought CeBIT was in danger of becoming a mobile phone non-event this year, Samsung have come up trumps, showcasing their new and highly distinctive Samsung SGH-P110 messaging phone.
As you can see, the first thing that jumps out at you is the innovative form factor. The P110 has somewhat of a schizophrenic feel about it, being both a standard (albeit large) clamshell when opened one way, and a more PDA-like smartphone when opened the other way.

CeBIT 2007: Video of LG Prada Phone
Not all the mobile phone companies have given up on CeBIT. LG, for example, have being showing off their super-posh LG KE850 Prada phone, giving us a much better look at its user interface – and it looks great!

Sony Ericsson prefers Second Life to CeBIT

CeBIT 2007 is currently in full swing – but you’d never know it. Gadgets galore there may be, but the mobile phone manufacturers seem to have deserted it in favour of the more mobile-specific 3GSM and CTIA conferences.
Still, Sony Ericsson are there, albeit in virtual form – they’ve built an entire Second Life CeBIT presence, showing off their latest mobile phones in glorious virtual technocolour. Check out the video for yourself – almost as good as being there yourself eh? No? Ah well, can’t please all the people…!
