Sony Ericsson Robyn leaked, plus why they killed the Nexus name (you can probably guess!)

Sony Ericsson are also absent from CES 2010, keeping their tinder dry for MWC no doubt, but again we’ve got another leaked photo, this time of the Sony Ericsson Robyn. The Robyn appears to be a cut-down Xperia X10 (and may eventually be called the X10 Mini), and so is another Android device featuring the same user interface as the X10, but with a smaller screen and probably no keyboard.

Leaked pictures of the Nokia Mystic

Nokia don’t do CES (or MWC this year – not sure if they’re going to any tech event, actually, other than their own!), so it’s nice to see a new Nokia phone pic amongst all the CES stories.

This one is of the Nokia Mystic, but mystically, it’s only a leaked pic, and even more mystically still, from Vietnam of all places!

Although it’s blurred, it’s not that blurred that you can’t see it, and it’s definitely not a Photoshop job. It looks bloody awful, though, particularly after all the superphones we’ve seen in the past few weeks.

Hopefully this is either a phone that we’ll never see in Europe and destined only for markets such as Vietnam (no offence, people of Vietnam, it just looks pants!), or else it’s an old prototype that somehow found its way to distant shores!

10 minute Nexus One video review leaked

Google’s new Nexus One Android phone is set to be officially announced on January 5th. But who can wait that long? Not French bloggers Nowhereelse.fr, who not only got hold of one, they also helpfully recorded a 10 minute video review of the Nexus One.

Lovely people ;)

Details of the Nexus One are being leaked thick and fast. Now finally having had a chance to look at it, it’s looking like it really could live up to its hype. The user interface is super-slick, and the speed is simply incredible. HTC (the Nexus One’s makers) have really pushed the underlying 1GHz Snapdragon chip to the limits, letting Google’s Android team be as creative as they want with the interface.

Check out more details and the full video review of the Nexus One after the jump.

Nokia N97 Mini could save Nokia’s bacon

No sooner has Nokia launched the Nokia N97 than rumours of a new Nokia N97 Mini start swirling around the blogosphere.

This would be important news in its own right, but given the underwhelming reception that the Nokia N97 received, it’s news that might just save Nokia’s skin.

More details and pictures of the Nokia N97 Mini after the jump.

Video, details of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X5 (aka Rachael)

Sony Ericsson have been teasing us of late with what could be the new Sony Ericsson XPERIA X5. Currently going under the codename of the Sony Ericsson Rachael, we’ve seen pictures of a brand new smartphone with a fantastic spec, all built on top of the Android OS. Better still, we’ve now got a video of the new user interface, showing exactly what Sony Ericsson has in store for Android’s UI.

Leaked pictures of the third gen iPhone

Once more, Apple fanboys are out in force as the world awaits news of what could be the third generation of the Apple iPhone. The rumours come in advance of the Apple WWDC conference in San Francisco, during which Apple is expected to announce a newly-updated iPhone for the salivating masses.

The third generation iPhone is expected to have a compass, a 600MHz processor, “improved” camera to a still-puny 3.2 megapixels adn 32GB of storage – in other words, not exactly a quantum leap, and certainly not what you’d expect from a “next generation” device.

Still, all of this is just rumour at the moment, and these leaked pics haven’t even been confirmed as real, yet, so we’ll just have to wait until WWDC next week to see what exactly Apple has up its sleeve.

Until then, check out some more pictures of the third generation iPhone after the jump.

Leaked Pictures of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2

Sony Ericsson have been rumoured to be working on the new Sony Ericsson X2 for some time now, and these leaked pics show that it’s development is progressing nicely. Seemingly based on Windows Mobile (presumably version 6.5), the X2 comes with a large touchscreen display and a good-looking full QWERTY keyboard.

Seems like it’s smartphone season at the moment. The Nokia N97 is due for release in two weeks’ time, the Palm Pre is just around the corner, rumours of a new iPhone doing the rounds, a plethora of HTC smartphones and Android phones that are imminent, and now this from Sony Ericsson.

I think it likely that come a year or two’s time, the term smartphone will become meaningless in the same way that cameraphone is now. Every phone will be a smartphone, just like every phone now has a camera.

Glorious!

Leaked pictures of 3 new Android phones

The Android news is coming thick and fast these past few weeks, with more detailed info being leaked on Android phones from both Samsung and Motorola. I’ve already discussed Samsung’s Android phone, the Samsung I7500, but now we’ve got more pictures of the device. As you can see, it literally looks like a G1 bolted onto a classic Samsung handset. Clearly Samsung haven’t exactly gone to town in differentiating their Android phone from the competition’s.

We’re also got leaked pics of Motorola’s new Android devices, which are set to launch in quarter 4 2009. More pics and details of these Android phones after the jump.

5 super-fast Toshiba smartphones leaked

One of the surprises of this year’s Mobile World Congress even was Toshiba’s TG01 smartphone. Not only did it feature an innovative new user interface, it also ran on the brand new Windows Mobile 6.5 and came with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, making it the fastest smartphone on the market.

Well, it seems Toshiba are not happy on resting on their laurels, and so are busy working on another five new smartphones, each of which feature the same 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and many of which are even more fully featured than the original TG01.

Full details of Toshiba’s new smartphones after the jump.

Leaked photo of first Samsung Android phone

I bought myself a T-Mobile G1 Android phone at the weekend. My old E90 was showing its age, the G1 was free for the same monthly price as my old Just SIM deal, and frankly, I just couldn’t wait! I love the Android concept, and after having had my G1 for four days, I can safely say I love Android! You’ll get the full review soon.

But then, no sooner had I bought my G1, that some other tasty Android news filtered my way. After little in the way of news, information or developments, Samsung has apparently announced that its first Android phone is about to be launched.
