LG have announced the LG CAN*U mobile TV phones, each of which features of one of 10 designs by famous cartoonists and painters.

The phones themselves are fairly feature-laden: T-DMB mobile TV, 2.6″ screen, MP3 Bluetooth, camera, and even mobile banking facilities.

However, it’s the artwork on the phones’ covers that really set them apart, as is obvious from the fact that the press releases only show the back of the phones.

LG have announced the LG SB190 SatNav phone. Through absolutely no coincidence whatsoever, LG’s launch comes months before Nokia release their own SatNav phone in the form of the Nokia N95, which is sure to generate a huge amount of interest.

LG seem to be making a habit of pre-empting their rivals at the moment, as they recently announced their new LG KE850 Prada phone, which looks like an iPhone, but will beat it to market by a good six months.

The new LG Shine phone is the company’s second generation of its glorious-looking Black Label designer phones (the LG Chocolate phones were part of the first generation). Pictures of the LG Shine show it’s another great looking designer phone from LG – but it looks even better in video. Should be released soon, and a review will follow.

LG have finally come clean on the LG KE850 Prada phone and its specs – and it ain’t good! It’s already been mentioned how much the LG KE850 and the iPhone seem to share – same form factor, touchscreen interface, similiar look and feel, etc. – and now, it seems they also share the same array of rather limp features!

It’s been noted amongst the Blogosphere that Apple’s iPhone bears a striking resemblance to the forthcoming LG KE850 Prada Phone. Well, now’s your chance to find out, as we’ve managed to get our hands on videos of both the iPhone and the KE850 in use.

CES 2007 has started with a pre-show show (as it were!), so most of the big stories have yet to be made. Verizon have decided to jump the gun, though, announcing their new VCAST Mobile TV service for the US, complete with the fancy new LG VX9400 mobile TV phone (above)

LG have shown that while chocolate might be bad for you, the LG Chocolate is extremely good for a high-tech mobile phone company seeking to turn a loss into a profit.

Celebrating the first year of the launch of the LG Chocolate, the company announced the world consumed 6 million LG Chocolate designer phones in 2006, with 3 million sold in the last two and a half months alone.

Better still, the company predicts sales will reach 10 million in the first half of next year.

Such is the success of the LG Chocolate, it accounts for 18 per cent of LG’s total mobile phone sales, and single-handedly turned a $33 million loss posted by the company in the first quarter of 2006, into a profit.

Success with the mobile phone market is difficult and expensive to come by, but the rewards are more than worth it. And with the glorious looking new LG Shine on its way, LG look set to continue the success currently enjoyed by the Chocolate.

LG have announced the new LG KB1800 mobile TV phone. We’re all used to Korean mobile TV phones by now, and the LG KB1800 doesn’t offer anything new over the rest of the competition. In fact, it looks just like a standard mobile phone, and maybe that’s a real sign of the times – that an ordinary Korean phone now comes with TV built-in, no-one bats an eye-lid, and it looks no different from your standard run of the mill mobile phone!

It wasn’t that long ago we’d all have been amazed at TV on a phone (in fact, for most of us where mobile TV is still a dream rather than a reality, we still are!). Ah, how quickly we grow accustomed to the new mobile phone gizmos!

The new LG Shine mobile phone has only been on sale for 15 days, yet is already showing signs of breaking all records for LG mobile phones. LG’s previous best-seller, the LG Chocolate, sold 1,000 units per day after its first 3 weeks on sale. In contrast, the LG Shine is already shifting 1,500 units, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

The LG Shine is a family of models, comprising the LG-SV420, KV4200 and LV4200 models. All of the models are distinguished by a mirror LCD on the front and stainless steel construction, giving the LG Shine a polished designer look and feel, which is obviously helping the Shine to sell by the bucketload.

LG are about to release the new LG KE800 Chocolate phone. The LG KE800 is basically an original LG KG800 Chocolate phone with beefed up features and a new slimmer profile. For your money, you get twice the memory (now 256MB), twice the megapixels (now 2 megapixel camera), an FM Radio as well as MP3 player, and stereo bluetooth. In addition, the size of the LG KE800 has shrunk from 15.2 mm thick to a trim 9.9mm.
