CTIA 2006: LG 550 music phone and LG 8300 GPS phone
LG showed off a slurry of new phones at CTIA 2006, including this, the rather nifty looking LG 550. A CDMA phone with EV-DO support, the LG 550 features iPod-style music-keys on the front and has a 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio and MP3 player.
LG also showed off another five mobile phones, most of which were low-end affairs. One phone of note, however, was the LG 8300 GPS phone.
New LG 890 Muse 3G Video Phone
LG has announced the new LG 890 Muse Video phone. Sporting 3G and Tri-band GSM support, the LG 890 focuses firmly on video, offering a specially designed ‘TV Menu’ key for quick access to 3 Hong Kong’s Live TV Channel, including the i-CABLE News, i-CABLE Finance and i-CABLE Entertainment News channels, Main Roads Live Traffic, Horse Racing Live, Bloomberg TV, the Phoenix Live InfoNews Channel and MATV.
CTIA 2006: Disney makes Happy Slappy the Eighth Dwarf
If Mickey Mouse phones are your thing, then why not go for the LG DM-L200 phone offered exclusively on Disney’s new mobile network. Yes, that’s right, Disney have launched themselves an MVNO, and are offering this LG phone (above) and a Pantech DN-P100 (below) to its (presumably) young customers.
Be interesting to see the press when one of their young chavs clients is caught Happy Slapping on a Disney phone! Perhaps Happy Slappy will feature as the eighth Dwarf in a new Disney remake for the 21st century?!

CTIA 2006: LG SC-300 mobile phone
LG were a bit quieter than their Korean neighbour Samsung at CTIA 2006. While Samsung were busy announcing new Blackberry phones, WiFi phones, HSDPA innovations and washing machine phones (OK, I made that one up!), LG contented themselves with just a few simpler phones and a Bluetooth mobile phone remote control!
More Korean mobile TV phones heading for Europe
New Korean phones always raise a stir, as the technology packed inside them is normally a good 18 months ahead of, well, everywhere else! Recently, however, an increasing number of Korean phones are making their way outside of Korea, and heading to Europe. Glorious! Continuing this trend is LG, who announced at 3GSM that the LG V9000 mobile TV phone with marvellous swivelling form factor will be heading to Europe later in 2006. And, just like Samsung, they’re keeping their options open with regards to the mobile TV technology to use. The LG V9000 uses them all (T-DMB, Media FLO, and DVB-H, though not simultaneously).

The LG S5200 ‘Shark’ – new LG mobile phone not as bad as its bite
Indeed, judging by the pic LG chose to place on the screen of the S5200′s photo, they know its sexy, and want you to know it, too!
No doubt LG are after even more very satisfied customers. Not quite sure why they call it the ‘Shark’ though.
