Moody new Nokia 7900 Crystal Prism
Nokia have released their stunning Nokia 7900 Crystal Prism phone. The 7900 Crystal Prism was designed by graphic and fashion designer Frédérique Daubal, who’s previously developed concepts for the likes of Paul Smith, Gas Tokyo, and the gloriously-named Bumble & Bumble.
It should be clear by now that the 7900 is being pitched solely as a designer phone, and here it really scores. Its nearest competitor is the multi-million selling LG Shine range, but with its black and burgundy colourings and its laser-etched covers, it makes the Shine look, well, dull.
Of course, being a designer phone, it’s not heavily laden with features – but then, that’s not the point of designer phones is it? It’s all about the eye candy, and the 7900 is pure optical Belgian truffle!

Nokia 2600 and 1209 do what the music industry doesn’t
Nokia has announced a couple of new low end phones for emerging markets that actively embrace the concept of sharing. In stark contrast to the music industry, which sees sharing as equivalent to terrorism, the new Nokia 2600 and Nokia 1209 are designed to be shared by up to five people.
To facilitate this, both phones come with multiple phone books (one per person), and a cost-tracker application that lets each person see how much they’ve spent on calls.

Oh I do like to blog beside the seaside
It’s Xmas Eve in the UK, nearly 3pm, just over an hour of daylight left, temperature falling, grey leaden skies closing in threatening to rain, and what am I doing? Standing on the beach in Torquay blogging!
No, I’m not trying to win geek of the year award, I’m testing just how mobile a mobile blogger can be! And I’m happy to report that with my trusty Nokia E90, I am indeed extremely mobile.
The only disadvantages at the moment are that I can no longer feel my fingers, due to the cold, and it’s now starting to rain, and despite its seemingly never-ending features, waterproofness is not part of the E90′s armoury! So I’m going back into my car to continue this post…
How to keep a girl quiet with a mobile phone

Ok, so this must rank as one of the more unconventional of my periodic how to articles, but I’ve inadvertently found another use for my increasingly indispensable Nokia E90 – keeping a girl occupied on long journeys :)
I’ve just travelled to Devon for the weekend, which took about 3 hours or so, and had a passenger with me with the attention span of a hamster with ADHD. Trying to find some way of fending off the constant “are we nearly there yet?”s, I was looking for some way to occupy her that didn’t involve earplugs (too obvious) or a gag (even less subtle!)
With a characteristic flash of inspiration, I had it – my Nokia E90 and Facebook! Now all I had to worry about was how well the E90 would be able to hold its HSDPA connection as I travelled at, er, around 70mph! As road tests go, this would be the ultimate – how did the E90 fare?…
Leaked pictures of Nokia N96
Nokia are on a bit of a roll at the moment, having just released the excellent Nokia N82, and now comes news of a possible forthcoming model, the Nokia N96. As you can see from the pics, the new form factor is a little, er, interesting. Featuring a slide out QWERTY keyboard that doubles as a keypad when turned vertically, the N96 is bound to cause a bit of a stir…
…or at least it would if it wasn’t a fake!
Nokia E90 Sat-Nav report

I’m coming back from London now (again writing this post on the train), having spent a glorious afternoon seeing Spamalot in the West End. While there, I got the chance to try out my Nokia E90′s Sat-Nav functionality in earnest, and the results were, well, mixed..
Moblogging with the Nokia E90

Well, I’m off to London now, writing this post on my Nokia E90 on the train. Apart from the connection dropping out at Slough (just when you need something to take your mind off the scenery!), i’ve been browsing without problem, and now moblogging.
The Nokia E90 really is performing much better than I ever thiought possible.Web browsing is superb on it. i’ll be testing out the Sat-Nav features when I arrive, as I always manage to get lost, so I’ll let you know just how useful the E90 is for finding your way around.
As far as moblogging goes, though the Nokia E90 scores 10 out of 10!
Nokia E90 – the world’s best PDA?

I’ve had my Nokia E90 Communicator for a couple for weeks now, and I’m really starting to use it in earnest. What are my impressions so far? One word: awesome! I’ve stopped thinking of it as a mobile phone, and see it more as a laptop for those times when I don’t actually have my laptop with me.
It’s everything I wanted it to be. It’s the perfect web browser for when you’ve got time to kill and just want to browse the web. When you’re watching TV with friends, for example, and aren’t really interested in the Tv programme itself – you can simply whip out the E90 and start reading the latest TechCrunch articles to while away 10 minutes or so.
But it’s become more than just a 24/7 web browser…much more…
Nokia N82 – an N95 in sheep’s clothing
As promised, time finally to start discussing the plethora of new announcements from the mobile phone world that annoyingly happened just when I lost Internet connectivity! First up is the new Nokia N82, which as well as being announced by Nokia this week, has also been released by the company in time for Christmas.
By any measure, the Nokia N82 is a stunning mobile phone – 5 megapixel camera, full Sat-Nav functionality, Wi-Fi and DVD-quality video recording are just some of the features its offers. However, if all this sounds a tad familiar, it’s because all of these features are present in the N82′s predecessor the N95.
Read on to see what the Nokia N82 offers that the N95 didn’t.
How the Nokia E90 saved my sanity

I’ve been in some odd situations in my life, but currently i’m in one I never expected to be in-I’m completely homeless! No house, no bed, no tv, and worst of all, no Internet connection!
Fortunately, my sanity has been saved by the glorious Nokia E90 Communicator, which I’m using to write this post. Find out how the E90 saved my sanity after the jump.
