Samsung Jet review – Super-speedy media phone that’s now the perfect price
You’ve seen the TV ad – now read the Samsung Jet review!
The ad bangs on a lot about how you don’t have enough time in the day, and how the Jet can save you time by being super fast, super-responsive, and super useful.
Is any of it true? Is the Jet as fast as Samsung claim, and is it a phone worth buying?
Read on for our full Samsung Jet review.
Video: How well does Samsung’s Bada play games?
If you’re wondering how well Samsung’s new Bada platform plays games, you might be interested in the video after the jump. Taken at MWC 2010, the video shows the Samsung Wave playing a 3D baseball game, and with pretty nice graphics and smooth motion, it has to be said.
Of course, the game isn’t excatly pushing the hardware all that hard, but at least it gives a flavour of the power of Bada (and, of course, the hardware it’s running on).
Video after the jump.
Video of Samsung Monte phone
Samsung announced the Samsung Monte shortly before this week’s MWC 2010, and it was on show in Barcelona, as you’d expect.
The Monte is a mid-range series of mobile phone with nothing particularly distinctive about them. They’ve got the usual connectivity options – Wi-Fi, HSDPA, and also aGPS. There’s also the by-no ubiquitous social networking app, which now even has its own acronym (SNS – Social Network Service).
Other than that, the only thing of note is the fact that it does look rather good – oh, and the nifty video, which you can see after the jump.
Video of the Samsung Beam (aka Halo)
Say hello to the Samsung Beam, the first Android 2,1 phone with built-in pico-projector.
OK, so I know you’re all thinking that was the Samsung Halo, but it turns out that Halo was just the codename – the actual released name of the device is the Samsung Beam.
After the euphoria of the Beam’s details from yesterday, we can finally see how good it is today. Check out the video after the jump to see for yourself.
Samsung Halo i8520 projector phone – the most advanced Android phone yet
Wow! Samsung will be showing off this, the Samsung Halo i8520 phone tomorrow at MWC 2010. The Halo is both an unbelievably good smartphone from Samsung, yet also something of an enigma.
First the goodies – the Samsung Halo is a 3.7″ SuperAMOLED-totting Android 2.1 smartphone with a list of features longer than your arm, and which includes not just an 8 megapixel camera, not just 720p/30 frames per second video recording, but a built-in pico projector for projecting images and video onto a wall!
Seriously, the list of features on this new phone is just stunning – check them out after the jump.
Videos and preview of the Samsung Wave S8500, the first Samsung Bada phone
The first Samsung Bada phone, the Samsung Wave S8500, has been officially previewed today at the start of MWC 2010. It’s been an open secret that the Wave would be show in Barcelona this week (largely because of the giany billboard poster Samsung had put up telling everybody about the Wave!), but this is the first time the world’s mobile press have been able to get their grubby hands on it!
So, what are the first impressions? How does Bada compare to the multitude of other smartphone OSes on the market at the moment, and what’s the Samsung Wave actually like?
Samsung SHW-M100S – a superphone with a super screen
Samsung are getting ready to release the Samsung SHW-M100S, a new Android 2.1 phone with quite possibly the best screen of any phone ever made.
The phone itself has the usual array of great features – 5 megapixel camera, 720p HD recording, DivX playback, GPS, 800MHz CPU – everything you’d need in a high-end superphone really (I must stop calling them that!)
But by far the biggest attraction must be the screen.
See the pics after the jump to see why.
Samsung i8910 Omnia HD Review: the smartest feature phone around
The Samsung i8910 Omnia HD in this review is a superb combination of high-end feature phone and slick touchscreen smartphone. If you demand the very best features from your phone, but you don’t want to lose the ease of use of a touchscreen, the Omnia HD is quite possibly the only phone you need to consider.
At its heart, the Omnia HD is all about video – and high-def video at that. Capable of recording and playing HD video at 720p, the Omnia HD gives you the best quality video of any mobile phone on the market, and shows it off in superb style with a super-clear 16 million colour AMOLED screen.
That’s not the end of its talents, though – not by a long shot. With superb 8 megapixel camera, GPS and slick touchscreen interface, the Omnia HD is perfect if you can’t decide between a high-end feature phone or a touchscreen smartphone – the Omnia HD gives you both!

Samsung W9600 with Pico projector
Samsung are another company with a thin presence at CES 2010, but they are at least there and have been showing off the Samsung W9600. This little beauty isn’t a smarpthone and certainly isn’t a superphone, but it does have one neat trick up it’s sleeve – a built-in projector.
Now projector phones aren’t new, but the technology is clearly getting smaller and better. The W9600 no longer looks an unholy fusion of phone and pico projector (as they’re called) it just looks like a phone.
You can beam anything from the phone onto a suitable surface (i.e. a wall). Not just pics, but even the phone’s user interface.
More pics of the Samsung W9600 after the jump.
Samsung Genio Touch Review – looking for a great touchscreen phone on a budget?
The Samsung Genio Touch in this review is one of the coolest low-priced mobile phones on the market today. With Samsung’s own TouchWiz user interface and responsive touchscreen, the Genio Touch gives you an almost iPhone-like experience in a bargain phone that also hooks in seamlessly with social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
Samsung have cut down on features with the Genio Touch to keep its cost low – you only get a 2 megapixel camera, for example – but software is free, so they’ve made sure the Genio Touch provides you with everything you need to do on the mobile Web, and all from an extremely responsive touchscreen interface.
Read on for our full Samsung Genio Touch review to see if it’s the phone for you.
