Create your own Sony Ericsson XPERIA panel

If you’ve got a shiny new Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 smartphone and want to create your own panel, you’ll find that it’s not the easiest process in the world.

You can currently create either code-based panels, written in a language such as C++, or HTML-based panels, which are obviously written using HTML.

However, both types require you to use Microsoft’s Visual Studio development environment, which is not exactly for the faint-hearted!

Fortunately, the guys at MySonyEricssonBlog have created an easy-to-use online panel creator, which lets you create the HTML panels you want and then upload them onto your XPERIA.

Best of all, it’s free, too,and doesn’t require the 4GB that Visual Studio does!

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 to be released next month

Ever since Sony Ericsson announced their drool-worthy XPERIA X1 smartphone, there’s been persistent rumours that it might be delayed until next year. Fortunately, this appears not to be the case, as online phone store Dial-a-Phone reckon they’ll have the first batch of XPERIA’s in stock “…in less than a month from now”. Phones4U are also preparing for it, and have a short XPERIA X1 Review complete with pics and vids.

All this bodes well for Sony Ericsson, who could do with some good news as they’ve been struggling recently with poor sales and a lukewarm reception to many of their latest handsets.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 preview

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is one of the most-anticipated new smartphones to come from Sony Ericsson in years. Previous smartphones from the company focused on their P-range, with the P900 and its successors perhaps the most well-known. Although these have always been well-regarded, I’ve also found them a bit too fiddly to use. You either had to rely on stylus-based hand-writing recognition, which only recognized a single character at a time, or a keyboard so small only a 5 year old child could use.

The Xperia X1 changes all that, as it comes with a slide out keyboard similar to other manufacturers’ smartphones (such as HTC’s range or the Nokia E90). Better still, Sony Ericsson have had the good sense of stuffing the X1 with every conceivable feature they could think of!

Read on for a sneak preview of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 in action.

More details of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Smartphone

Now here’s a phone that’s had me all excited ever since it was first announced at the Mobile World Congress back in February. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is a smartphone set to challenge the mighty Nokia E90. If looks are anything to go by, the XPERIA wins hands down, but as with any smartphone, it’s not the looks that matter, it’s the features and how easy they are to use.

Sony Ericsson are keeping tight lipped about the applications on offer with the XPERIA X1 for the moment, but they have released a set of specifications for the phone, if it’s incomplete.

Preview Pictures of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

Star of the MWC show in my eyes this year was undoubtedly the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 super-smartphone. Pitched squarely at the Nokia E90 and the Apple iPhone, and combining features of both, this gorgeous looking phone has everything -all the features you could possibly need (HSPDA, HSUPA, GPS, 3G, 3 inch touchscreen and a 3.2 megapixel camera), a superb new user interface running on top of Windows Mobile 6, and looks to die for.

At the time of the show, we had to make do with press release pics from Sony Ericsson, but as time has gone on, a few more pics have emerged of this glorious new smartphone.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 steals the show

Sony Ericsson stole the show on the first day of the MWC 2008 with the launch of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 smartphone. The Xperia X1 is one of those phones we were all dying to see last year – a new Sony Ericsson phone that has so much wow factor, you really don’t know where to begin!

Crammed full of features, with fantastic styling, and a superb user interface, the XPERIA X1 even makes me wonder whether I should replace my Nokia E90 for it.
