(More after the jump).
Samsung i8910 Omnia HD Review: the smartest feature phone around
The Samsung i8910 Omnia HD in this review is a superb combination of high-end feature phone and slick touchscreen smartphone. If you demand the very best features from your phone, but you don’t want to lose the ease of use of a touchscreen, the Omnia HD is quite possibly the only phone you need to consider.
At its heart, the Omnia HD is all about video – and high-def video at that. Capable of recording and playing HD video at 720p, the Omnia HD gives you the best quality video of any mobile phone on the market, and shows it off in superb style with a super-clear 16 million colour AMOLED screen.
That’s not the end of its talents, though – not by a long shot. With superb 8 megapixel camera, GPS and slick touchscreen interface, the Omnia HD is perfect if you can’t decide between a high-end feature phone or a touchscreen smartphone – the Omnia HD gives you both!

Happy New Year Mobile Mentalists!

We’re just 5 hours away from the New Year here in the UK, so I just wanted to say thanks to all you MobileMentalism readers for making 2009 so great, and wishing you all a happy (and mobile!) 2010.
2009 was the year of our new site redesign, which I’m happy to say has worked really well. 2010 will bring some great new features to the site, tonnes more content, and a whole new world of mobile tech as the new decade sees the rise of the smartphone reach its ultimate conclusion – total dominance!
We’ll be taking a look back at mobile phones in the Noughties over the coming days, and will also do the obligatory look forward to what we can expect, not just in 2010, but in the next decade!
So prepare yourselves for great new posts coming soon, and in the meantime, have a cracking new year!
Sony Ericsson W995 Review – discover the best kept secret in mobile phones
The price of the Sony Ericsson W995 has recently dropped, making it a fantastic deal if you’re looking for a top of the range phone with a huge list of features, but for a bargain price. In fact, its new price makes the W995 the best kept secret in mobile phones this Christmas – and one that you’ll be delighted to have discovered!
Why? Because although the W995 has a great feature-set – including huge 8 megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS and tons more – other sexier phones have since been released, and so the price of the Sony Ericsson W995 has had to be lowered to attract people’s attention again.
The result is a great mobile phone with some superb features for a ridiculously low price – perfect for a credit crunch-busting Christmas present!
To see if the W995 is for you, read our Sony Ericsson W995 review below.
Adobe releases Photoshop Mobile for Android

In a hugely significant step, Adobe have released a mobile version of Photoshop for the Android platform. Photoshop for Android represents a real vote of confidence in the Android platform, as Adobe is huge and Photoshop is its crown jewels.
You’re probably thinking that it can’t be all of Photoshop squeezed onto an Android phone, though. And yes, you’d be right, but as the video shows, it’s a slick app all the same.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Preview – the best Windows Mobile smartphone yet?
Sony Ericsson are on a roll at the moment with their Xperia range of high-end phones. Hot on the heels of the X5 comes the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 (not sure what happened to the X3 or X4!), the latest Windows Mobile based Sony Ericsson smartphone that features the Xperia brand.
Xperia is a brand new range of Sony Ericsson smartphones that started off well with the Xperia X1, but which seemed to stall a bit as no new phones followed in its wake. The company has now changed all that with two new Xperias debuting on the same day, plus a new Android-based Xperia waiting in the wings.
I’ve already previewed the Xperia X5, a designer phone with a see-through screen. What, though, of the X2? Well, it’s a high-end smartphone that has a similar QWERTY keyboard to the X1, but which also adds a tonne of cutting-edge features.
Find out which ones after the jump!
Announcing the brand new look MobileMentalism

If you thought I’d been quiet over the summer, it’s not that I’ve been on holiday – far from it! As you can see, I’ve been working overtime getting the new look MobileMentalism up and running.
There’s a tonne of new features to explore, including the brand new phone comparison engine, which is the perfect tool for finding the right phone at the right price.
As with any new theme, there’s bound to be a few tweaks needed, so please bare with me if anything seems to be out of order. Once the site’s stable, I’ll finally be able to start posting again. And about time, too – there’s been far too much going on in the mobile phone world that I haven’t had chance to cover! About time I put that right :)
MobileMentalism a bit wobbly – normal service hopefully resumed

Apologies to those of you who’ve visited the site in the past few days to find it’s been down. I’m having a few server issues, which should be resolved now, fingers crossed! It doesn’t help that I’m in the middle of a site redesign (on a staging server, not the live site!), so I’m having to spend my time fighting server issues while redeveloping the site at the same time.
The perils of being a do-everything-yourself blogger, I guess! Anyway, if the site is still a bit wobbly in the next few days, rest assured I’m working on it. Once the new site goes live, normal posting will also resume – and I’ve got some killer posts just waiting to see the light of day :) It’s going to be a fun summer, mobile fans!
Nokia anounces the 8 megapixel Nokia N86 – in Singapore!
Nokia was heavily rumoured to be announcing the 8 megapixel Nokia N86 at MWC 2009. However, in what can only be described as a PR car-crash, they didn’t; instead, they banged on about two comptent but boring messaging phones (the E75 and E55) and two even more boring mid-range phones (the 6710 and 6720).
And that was it – while Samsung was showing off its 8 megapixel Omnia HD that can shoot at 720p HD; while LG was flashing its 8 megapixel Arena, with 120 frames per second video recording and superb new 3D user interface; and while Sony Ericsson were showing off their new 12 megapixel camera phone, Nokia simply left them all to it and watched as the world’s attention went elsewhere.
Seems somebody forgot to tell the assembled marketeers at MWC 2009 about the Nokia N86, a new 8 megapixel camera phone from Nokia that the company itself accidentally leaked via a Carl Zeiss press pack! It gbest worse though…
