Leaked pictures of LG Arena Max LU9400

LG are slowly but surely jumping on the Android bandwagon. Not only have they got a couple of Android handsets on the market now, but they’ve also got a few high-powered phones lined up for release later in the year as well.

Take this for example. It’s rumoured to be the LG Arena Max LU9400, which as well as featuring a 3.5″ touchscreen, GPS, WiFi and 5 megapixel camera, will also come with the legendary Snapdragon 1GHz processor.

Mmmm, tasty!

HTC Supersonic: even more super than Google’s Superphone

HTC, the company who gave us the Nexus One, which Google termed the Superphone, are rumoured to be working on another new super phone, this time called the HTC Supersonic. And like the Nexus One and HTC HD2 before it, this one looks like it’s going to be yet another killer.

I say that, because it seems to combine all of the best bits of both phones, and then add a few more into the mix. Like what, you may ask? How about 4G.

Mmmm, tasty! Read on for more details after the jump.

Leaked pictures of the Sony Ericsson Faith

If you wondered why I called the HTC HD2 the best Windows Mobile phone in the world, take a look at these leaked pics of the Sony Ericsson Faith and shudder!

The Faith hasn’t even been announed yet – these are leaked pics after all – and so it’s a phone that will be much new than the HD2 when it’s released, yet already you feel like you’re looknig at a phone from 2005!

Blimey, Windows Mobile needs updating, and fast – and Sony Ericsson needs to stop working on ugly phones and ugly OSes like this!

HTC HD2 review – the best (and biggest!) Windows Mobile phone in the world

Why should you care about an HTC HD2 review? HTC’s new huge smartphone is based on Windows Mobile, and with the mobile world seemingly full of Android phones, iPhones and Palms, doesn’t that make it already out of date?

The short answer is no: Windows Mobile is certainly out of date, but nothing on the HTC HD2 looks even remotely like Windows Mobile! HTC have created their own sleek user interface and refined it for the HD2, and then given it the horsepower via the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU to turbocharge its responsiveness.

The result is the best Windows Mobile phone ever made, and one that should certainly be on your shopping list if you’re looking for a cutting edge smartphone with some serious power.

LG GW540, the world’s saddest looking Android phone

LG have been showing off the LG GT540 at CES 2010, a low-cost Android 2.0 phone that does pretty much what you expect an Android phone to do.

Rather than go to town on the user interface like some other manufacturers have done, LG have simply taken an LG phone and wrapped it around a standard Android interface. Not exactyl innovative, but it should keep the cost nice and low when it’s released in a few month’s time.

You can see a video of the LG GT540 after the jump.

Inbrics M1 Android phone streams media wherever you want it

Newcomer Inbrics has been showing off the Inbrics M1 at CES 2010. The Inbrics M1 is a new Android phone (currently Android 1.5, but Android 2.0 is on its way) with a cracking form factor. Like the Motorola Droid, it’s got a slide out physical keyboard, but it’s super-thin so you’d never know it was even there until it’s revealed.

But that’s not the key selling point of the M1 – no, that would be the way it handles media, making Nokia’s notion of “multimedia computers” look a little…lagging!

UK Nexus One to feature multi-touch, out on Vodafone in Feb

Google’s glorious Nexus One, still the most hotly anticipated phone of 2010 (OK, so we’re only a week into the new year, but we’re in the middle of CES, and nothing has trumped it yet!), will feature multi-touch when released in the UK on Vodafone next month.

So if you’re jealous of the iPhone’s pinch zooming abilities, don’t be. Buy a UK Nexus On, and you too can be pinching and zooming to your heart’s content!

LG GW990 Wideload features 5 inch screen, Intel Inside

Ignroing the superphones that have been announced at CES 2010, LG has decided to go big – really big! Step forward the LG GW990, a new phone (at least I think you can call it that!) with a huge 4.8″ widescreen display.

So big is the screen, in fact, that you can fit three different apps side by side. Just check out the pic – contacts, calendar and map, all side by side.

Palm announces the Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus at CES 2010

Palm have announced two new devices at CES 2010 – the Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus.

The Pre Plus comes with 16GB of RAM, Adobe Flash (and “real Flash – the first time real Flash has been available on a mobile device”, apparently), WiFi, and a new app called the Palm Mobile Hotspot.

This is a cracking new app that not only allows tethering (i.e. turns your mobile into a modem so you can use the 3G network with your laptop), it supports up to 5 simultaneous connections.

The Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus release date is set for January 25th 2010.

Video of Lenovo Lephone reveals a surprisingly good Superphone

Lenovo have been showing off the Lenovo Lephone at CES 2010. The Lephone is a brand new Android handset that has a new user interface designed by the company. When I first heard about the Lephone yesterday, I didn’t pay it much attention. Lenovo aren’t exactly known for developing cutting edge smartphones, so I thought it would be just another run of the mill Android phone.

Boy was I wrong?! As the video shows, the Lephone is leagues ahead of “standard” Android phones, and its new user interface looks at least as good as the Nexus One’s.

The list of phones vying for the “world’s best smartphone” title just grew by one!

More details and video of the Lenovo Lephone after the jump.
